Job Summary:
GEO is seeking a dynamic and motivated junior engineer with bilingual English/Chinese reading, writing, and speaking capabilities. The ideal candidate will work directly with GEO’s Director of Engineering to provide support for CAD drafting, engineering planning, data analysis, and a variety of other engineering tasks and responsibilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Review design data, sketches, and other documents to produce CAD drawings such as, site layout, Process Flow Diagram, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram, etc.
• Complete final set of design drawings based on reviews and comments.
• Provide general, entry‐level support to the engineering department.
• Enters test results into quality control database and project logs.
• Ensures compliance with applicable company and client quality requirements in all assigned programs, functions, and areas.
• Recommends improvements in process and methods used to generate CAD documentation.
• Assists senior engineers in the development of new methods to improve technology quality and process efficacy and efficiency.
• Translate engineering documents from English into Chinese.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Proficient with Auto CAD, EXCEL
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to comprehend and follow directions.
• Proficient in both English and Chinese (written and speaking).
• Prior engineering experience with water, wastewater, or site remediation
• Prior research experience in a chemistry or biological laboratory
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering within 6 months of hire date
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
